One of the few campsite in southern Morocco, This campsite is located on sea front and surrounded by a wall, clean and peaceful place located 6 km before reaching Dakhla, a space is dedicated for 4x4, the campsite offers also rooms to rent at very reasonable rates (30 Dhs per person).

Staying at Camping Moussafir

Camping Moussafir is one of the few campsites in the far south of Morocco, which makes it an important stop on the long Atlantic road towards Mauritania. The site faces the sea, is surrounded by a wall, and is described as clean and peaceful. A space is set aside for 4x4 vehicles, and rooms are also available, a welcome option after days of sleeping in a roof tent or a van.

Getting there

The campsite is on the road into Dakhla, about 6 km before you reach the town, according to our notes. Use the GPS coordinates shown on this page to find the entrance. Distances in this part of the country are long and services are spaced far apart, so fill up with fuel and water when you have the chance. Dakhla is known for strong and frequent wind, which is why kitesurfers love its lagoon, and which matters when you are pitching a tent or opening an awning. The climate is dry and tempered by the ocean. Choose a sheltered spot behind the wall if the wind picks up.
