Morocco Entry Requirements (2026)
Good news for most travelers: Morocco is visa-free for 90 days for citizens of the EU, UK, US, Canada, Australia and many other countries. Here's what you need to enter. (For the longer-stay process, see passports and visas to Morocco.)
Do You Need a Visa?
- Visa-free (90 days): EU/EEA, UK, US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Gulf states and many more - you just need a valid passport.
- Check your nationality: some countries need a visa or an e-visa in advance - verify with a Moroccan consulate before booking.
Passport & Documents
- Passport valid for the duration of your stay (many airlines/officials prefer 6 months' validity - safest to have it).
- A completed arrival/embarkation card (given on the plane or at the border).
- Proof of onward travel and accommodation can be requested, though rarely at the airport.
- No mandatory vaccinations for standard travel (see health information).
Length of Stay & Staying Longer
The visa-free stamp is 90 days. To stay longer, apply for a residence card (carte de sejour) - the process is detailed in our residency and moving to Morocco guides. Overstaying can mean fines on exit.
On Arrival
You'll get some dirhams and a SIM at the airport (money guide, SIM guide), then head to the city - e.g. the Marrakesh airport guide.
