This parking is located just next the Jemaa El Fna place, its only advantage is that it offers the possibility of spending the night in a secure environment instead of taking the road to a campsite by night.

Sleeping at Parking Koutoubia

Let's be clear about what this is: Parking Koutoubia is a car park, not a campsite. It lies next to the Jemaa El Fna square, near the Lalla Hasna park, and its one real advantage is the chance to spend a night in a secure place in the very centre of Marrakesh, instead of driving out to a campsite after dark. If you land here at the end of a long day on the road, it does that job. If you are looking for a place to relax for several days, it is not the right choice.

Getting there

The parking is about 1 km in a straight line from the middle of Jemaa El Fna, close to the Koutoubia minaret. Driving a large vehicle through central Marrakesh takes patience, so avoid the evening rush if you can. What to expect on site

Expect very little: this page lists only electricity and a waste point, with no showers, toilets or drinking water recorded. Come with full water tanks and a self-contained vehicle. Rates change often, according to the travellers' reports quoted in the description above, and you may be able to negotiate, so agree on the price with the attendant before you park for the night.

Climate and the best time to come
